Privacy Policy

MELTEK establishes and discloses the following Privacy Policy in accordance with applicable personal data protection laws, including the Personal Information Protection Act and the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, in order to protect users’ personal information and rights, and to smoothly handle related complaints.

MELTEK will notify any revisions to this Privacy Policy through website notices (or individual notices).

This policy is effective as of October 1, 2018.


Article 1 (Purpose of Processing Personal Information)

MELTEK processes personal information for the following purposes. The processed personal information will not be used for purposes other than those stated below. If the purpose of use changes, prior consent will be obtained.

a. Membership registration and management
Personal information is processed for purposes such as identity verification for membership services, prevention of fraudulent use by unauthorized users, confirmation of intent to join, record retention for dispute resolution, complaint handling, and delivery of notices.

b. Use for marketing and advertising
Personal information may be used for new service (product) development, customized service provision, event and promotional information delivery, opportunity to participate in promotions, content provision, statistical analysis based on demographic characteristics, and evaluation of service effectiveness.


Article 2 (Items of Personal Information Processed)

For online membership registration, service provision, and offline operations, MELTEK processes the following personal information:

1. Collected items and methods

a. Online collection (via website)
■ When registering or using services on the MELTEK website (www.meltekeng.co.kr)

Required information: Name, gender, phone number, email address, login ID, password
Optional information: Marital status, housing type, housing size, products of interest, areas of interest, flooring brand used, flooring installation timing, etc.


Article 3 (Retention and Use Period of Personal Information)

In principle, personal information is destroyed without delay once the purpose of processing has been achieved.

However, if retention is required under applicable laws such as the Civil Act, Commercial Act, or construction-related laws, MELTEK retains personal information for the period specified by law. In such cases, the information is used only for the purpose of retention.

Article 4 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)

MELTEK processes personal information only within the scope specified in Article 1 and does not provide personal information to third parties without prior consent of the user.


Article 5 (Outsourcing of Personal Information Processing)

In principle, MELTEK does not outsource the processing of personal information to third parties without the user's consent.


Article 6 (Rights of Data Subjects)

Users may exercise the following rights as data subjects:

  1. Request access to, correction of, or withdrawal of personal information for themselves or children under the age of 14
  2. Request correction or deletion of inaccurate personal information
  3. Access, modify, or delete personal information through account settings such as “Edit Personal Information,” “Account Settings,” “Withdraw Membership,” or “Withdraw Consent” after identity verification
  4. If a user requests correction or deletion of personal information errors, the relevant information will not be used or provided until the correction or deletion is completed
  5. Personal information deleted or terminated at the user's request will be processed in accordance with the retention period specified in Article 3

Article 7 (Destruction of Personal Information)

MELTEK promptly destroys personal information once the purpose of processing has been achieved.

Destruction procedure
Information entered by users is transferred to a separate database (or separate documents for printed materials) after the purpose is achieved and is stored for a certain period in accordance with internal policies and applicable laws, then destroyed. Information transferred to the database is not used for any purpose other than those required by law.

Destruction period
Personal information is destroyed within 5 days after the retention period expires or within 5 days after the information becomes unnecessary due to fulfillment of the processing purpose, service termination, or business closure.

Printed personal information is destroyed by shredding or incineration.
Electronic files are destroyed using technical methods that prevent recovery.

If a user does not log in to the website for 1 year, the stored information may be permanently deleted without prior notice.


Article 8 (Automatic Collection of Personal Information)

MELTEK uses cookies to provide personalized and customized services.

Cookies are small text files sent by the server used to operate the website and are stored on the user's computer hard disk.

Cookies do not automatically collect personally identifiable information, and users may refuse or delete cookies at any time.
